Re-Immaging an Existing Home
This project started with an existing A-frame residence on a spectacular waterfront lot, that the owners wanted to convert into their weekend retreat. The brief included retaining as much of the character of the existig home as possible, while redesigning the layout to accomodate a larger master suite ,an office as well as a new kitchen and dining room, with a media/ bonus room.
We were able to incorporate the existing roof line in the new addition, creating a design that blurs the old and new into a single unifying design.
A balcony was added to the master suite that added a link between the interior and exterior spaces. From the balcony one has the sense of being a part of the tree canopy, while enjoying the expansive views of the river and sunsets.
